Registration

Special Issue at International Journal of Radiation Biology

All participants contributing an oral presentation or a poster to ERRS 2026 qualify to send a submission to „International Journal of Radiation Biology“. The goal is a joined ERRS 2026 Special Issue ready for print before the next annual ERRS meeting or similar. Hence, a 4-months deadline (until early January 2026) is required for the first submission of manuscripts. At the registration, participants will be asked whether they would like to contribute. After the conference, they will be informed how to proceed. Prof. Dr. MSc. Michael Abend from ERRS council will contact them and coordinate this

Keynote speakers

Prof. Dr. Andrea Mairani

Andrea Mairani is the Scientific Director of the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center (HIT). His research spans biophysical modeling, micro- and nanodosimetry, and the development of advanced treatment-planning approaches for proton and heavy-ion therapy. Prof. Mairani has played a central role in integrating emerging ion species—such as helium and oxygen—into clinical and preclinical research frameworks. His work is characterized by close collaboration between physics, radiobiology, and clinical practice, with a consistent focus on improving the predictive accuracy and therapeutic effectiveness of particle-based radiotherapy.

Prof. Dr. Øyvind Bruland and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asta Juzeniene

Øyvind Bruland is Professor of Clinical Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, and a leading expert in the management of bone and soft-tissue sarcomas. His clinical and research career has focused on the development of improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for rare malignancies, with particular contributions in osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and bone metastases. Prof. Bruland has been instrumental in translating radiopharmaceutical research into clinical practice, including work that contributed to the development of targeted alpha-particle therapy using radium-223.

Asta Juzeniene is a senior researcher at the Department of Radiation Biology, Oslo University Hospital, and an Associate Professor II at the University of Oslo. Her work focuses on targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy, with a particular emphasis on alpha-emitting isotopes and their application in preclinical cancer models. Dr. Juzeniene’s research integrates radiochemistry, radiobiology, dosimetry, and translational studies to advance novel radionuclide-based treatments. She collaborates broadly with academic and industry partners and contributes to national and international efforts aimed at improving the precision, efficacy, and clinical readiness of next-generation radiopharmaceutical therapies.
